Hey guys! I’m Amir Royale.
I’m a young 16-year-old New York City actor, director, writer, musician, singer, rapper, poet, songwriter, recording artist, filmmaker, illustrator, artist and entrepreneur.
I’m from St. Albans, Queens and currently a senior at Fiorello H. LaGuardia of Music & Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan majoring in Drama. I actually am one of NYU’s 14 Future Filmmaker visionary graduates during the Spring semester of my sophomore year (2014).
But that’s beside the point really…
I love music. I just… do. It’s a source of humanity and peace for me. It’s personal. It’s soft spoken. It’s life changing. Music has been connected to my life since birth – ever since I can remember I always either was playing an instrument, singing or listening to artists and tunes – no matter what the genre. And because of how I became attached to music at such an early age, it’s stuck with me and my art in every aspect (writing, acting, etc.) reflects that. I can comfortably say I’m really flexible in almost every genre of music. Rock, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Soul – you name it. But probably my home bases would be Hip-Hop and R&B. Personally, I like to fuse genres. In my debut mixtape/LP, Magnificent, which I released in May, I really tried to express that. But, although I have a huge amount of experience I’ve been gaining in recording my vocals (both rapping and singing), I’ve tried to put just as much effort into my musicianship. My main instruments are piano and trumpet. But I can compose for multiple instruments. I have a great ear and aside that I think the most important part is that I love to jam and collaborate! Honestly, I hope that can turn out to be one of my best qualities because I feel that artists creating together is just mystical and it’s so rare in opinion. It’s like this elegant dance that happens that not a lot of people get to intimately be apart of in their lives.
I really can’t wait to meet all of you and really collectively enjoy this beautiful Summer with you guys! As Marat has said so many times lol, #BestSummerEver I have the highest hopes. 🙂

The link that I provided was to the SoundCloud form of my debut mixtape/LP, Magnificent. It is a bit incomplete at the moment because I am still releasing the singles to the project. Everything on the tape if I did not produce, I co-produced, and if not that – I performed all the vocals, wrote all the lyrics and arranged.

A documentary/music video of “Make Believe” (ft. True Artists) was released in May of 2014. I directed, filmed and edited it myself.

To be honest, Magnificent is nowhere close to finished. The whole project is much bigger than it already may seem. And although it’s my first musical work that I’ve shown to the world, I felt it was right to make it so big, because that’s what I do best. Dream big. The digital copies of each song are subject to change in the next few months – especially after what I hope to learn with you all. See you guys on Sunday. Let’s lock and load!
