Actor | Recording Artist | Filmmaker

AMIR ROYALE is a young New York City actor, recording artist, and filmmaker — alumni of the Public Elementary St. Albans School 36, Renaissance Middle School 192, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (where he studied Drama) and New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music (receiving a BFA in Recorded Music and a minor in Cinema Studies). Royale now also returns continuously to these educational institutions as a proud alumnus, professor, colleague, and/or artistic consultant.

Royale hails from St. Albans, Queens — a neighborhood that was once home to many legendary musicians, such as James Brown, John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne, A Tribe Called Quest, and Count Basie. After the passing of his mother in mid-2005, Royale was raised by his grandparents and single father — leading him to secure his prestigious higher education and artistic pursuits in their memory.

Just beginning his mid-twenties — Royale has garnered support from multiple industries and careers, due to his prolific showcases as an artist, academic, and educator. As an actor, Royale has appeared in films (BREAK, I AM YOUR FRIEND, THE LAST), Broadway musicals (SWEETEE, INTO THE WOODS, THE LION KING), and theatre shows (NOTHING HUMAN, AT ALL COST, DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA) perfecting his craft as a performer and orator of the human condition. He continues to add filmmaking to his repertoire with the release of original short films, features, music videos, and documentary content.

Nicknamed “Mr. Disney Dilla,” Royale’s musical discography expands as dynamically as himself — reminiscent, with undertones of J. Cole, Jon Bellion, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mac Miller, and even Stevie Wonder. Royale’s eclectic sense of 90’s Hip-Hop/R&B rhythms, often blends with his pop harmonies, poetic lyrics, and wordsmith forms of storytelling across his work. He proudly shapes his own genre creation of “Mystic Blues” to explore the emotional intersections between musical theatre and popular music.

Immediately post-graduation from New York University, Royale released his first two singles entitled “People Say” and “Hold It Down (Freestyle)” — finding a creative music home with renowned industry titans Richie Cannata (Saxophonist of the Billy Joel Band, Musical Director for Latin Grammy-nominated jazz musician and former New York Yankee, Bernie Williams, etc.), Warner Chappell songwriter Eren Cannata, and studio manager / engineer John Arbuckle at Cove City Sound Studios in Long Island, NY. Outside of his current constant mentorship, guidance, and collaboration with members of the Tisch School of the Arts community at large, Royale now co-operates as both the Chief Executive Officer & President of Multimedia Production Studio & Marketing Company M. StageScene Communications in New York, NY. He also was the first established Chief Content Officer & Studio Manager of Music Production & Artist Management company Lisendeep Music Group in Brooklyn, NY. Royale has in addition, contributed heavily as a film editor to the Emmy award-winning documentary house Blowback Productions in NYC (under the tutelage of Marc Levin and Daphne Pinkerson). He also continues to be a frequent creative freelancer at Hip-Hop entertainment company Mass Appeal Media.
